Prairie Quest: The Medallion Hunt

Think you have what it takes to solve the mystery?

Each summer, Prairie Village Museum challenges individuals, families, and teams to follow a trail of clues leading to a medallion hidden somewhere in the Rugby community. The medallion could be waiting near a familiar landmark, a local business, a public space, or another authorized location—but finding it will require more than luck.

Over 15 days, a new clue will be released each day. Early clues will keep the possibilities wide open. As the hunt continues, each clue will reveal more information and lead careful investigators closer to the hiding place. Some clues may seem straightforward, while others will require local knowledge, historical research, close observation, or a willingness to see familiar places from a different perspective.

More Than a Scavenger Hunt

Prairie Quest is an adventure through the history, landmarks, businesses, and stories that make Rugby and the surrounding area unique. Every clue is designed to move the hunt forward while revealing something about our community.

Compete on your own, gather your family, or form a team with friends. Study every clue carefully, compare ideas, revisit earlier clues, and remember—every word may matter.

How the Hunt Works

• One official clue will be released each day for up to 15 days.

• Each clue will narrow the possible hiding locations.

• Clues will be posted through Prairie Village Museum’s official communication channels.

• The hunt ends as soon as the medallion is found and properly reported.

• Participants must follow all official rules and search only in permitted areas.

• Complete rules, dates, prize information, and instructions for reporting the medallion will be announced before the hunt begins.

The winning investigator may be the person who knows Rugby’s history—or the family that notices one small detail everyone else overlooked.
