Dwight Jelsing Memorial Car Show
and Annual Rhubarb Festival
Every year on the second Sunday in June, Prairie Village Museum proudly hosts the Dwight Jelsing Memorial Car Show in partnership with the Rugby Car Club. Each year the event continues to grow, drawing an impressive lineup of classic cars, muscle cars, trucks, and modern vehicles from across the region. With more entries each season, the competition is fierce as owners showcase their pride and joy throughout the Village grounds.
The celebration also features the ever-popular Rhubarb Festival, where community members prepare an incredible assortment of homemade rhubarb desserts. For a small fee, visitors can sample a delicious variety of pies, cakes, crisps, bars, muffins, and other sweet treats while enjoying one of the area's favorite summer traditions.
Stop in and check out the cars, then cast your vote for the People's Choice Award!

Activities During Car Show
New for 2027, we're making the Dwight Jelsing Memorial Car Show and Rhubarb Festival even more family-friendly!
Young visitors can relax in our shaded Kids' Coloring Station, challenge family and friends to a game of Giant Connect Four, and enter drawings for fun prizes throughout the day.
Children can also become junior detectives by taking on our NEW Prairie Quest Mystery, an interactive adventure that will have them searching for clues, solving puzzles, and uncovering a mystery as they explore the museum grounds.
There's something for everyone, making it a fun-filled day the entire family can enjoy!
