We recommend allowing at least 1½ to 2 hours to explore the museum. Visitors who enjoy reading exhibits and examining artifacts may want to allow even more time.

​Tours are self-guided, but we can provide children and school groups with scavenger hunts and other activities.

Our buildings are not heated or cooled and you will be walking outdoors between buildings.

Our restrooms are handicapped accessible. We can provide wheelchairs.

Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome throughout the museum grounds, historic buildings, and gift shop. Owners are responsible for supervising their pets and cleaning up after them.

We have picnic tables. You'll also find a picnic shelter and playground in the Northern Lights Tower Park, just across our parking lot.
