Tips for Your Visit

  • We recommend allowing at least 1½ to 2 hours to explore the museum. Visitors who enjoy reading exhibits and examining artifacts may want to allow even more time.

  • Tours are self-guided, but we can provide children and school groups with scavenger hunts and other activities.

  • Our buildings are not heated or cooled and you will be walking outdoors between buildings.

  • Our restrooms are handicapped accessible. We can provide wheelchairs.

  • Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome throughout the museum grounds, historic buildings, and gift shop. Owners are responsible for supervising their pets and cleaning up after them.

  • We have picnic tables. You'll also find a picnic shelter and playground in the Northern Lights Tower Park, just across our parking lot.
